Shipping & Freight Policy

We supply retail display equipment from Kariakoo, Dar es Salaam to boutiques and clothing retailers across Africa and beyond. Mannequins, racks and showcases are bulky goods, so most orders travel as freight rather than parcel post. This page explains exactly how that works, what it costs, and what you approve before anything leaves our premises.

The one thing to know first

Nothing is dispatched until you approve the final freight cost in writing. If a shipping figure appears at checkout, treat it as a booking deposit or an estimate — not the final bill. We confirm the exact cost, the carrier or clearing agent, and the expected timeline with you before we send anything. If the confirmed cost is lower than the estimate, you pay less. If it is higher, we tell you first and you decide whether to proceed, adjust the order, or cancel for a full refund of what you have paid.

Why freight is quoted rather than fixed

Cross-border freight rates in our region are not fixed prices. They move with fuel costs, border conditions, consignment volume, and which clearing agent is handling a given corridor that month. We work with a network of partner agents, and the agent on a route can change between one shipment and the next.

We could hide this by charging everyone a high flat rate. We would rather quote each consignment honestly and let you see the real number. It means one extra confirmation step, and it usually means you pay less.

Delivery zones

Dar es Salaam — Boda Boda

Within Dar es Salaam we deliver by boda boda. Hangers, jewellery displays, racks and mannequins all travel this way — our riders carry mannequins regularly and know how to secure them.

The fare is not included in the product price. It is paid directly to the rider on arrival. We call you to agree the cost before dispatch.

Estimated fares:

Kariakoo, Kisutu, Upanga — Tsh. 3,000 to 6,000
Sinza, Ubungo, Magomeni — Tsh. 6,000 to 12,000
Mbezi, Tegeta, Kimara — Tsh. 12,000 to 20,000

These are estimates. The actual fare depends on your location, the time of day and the size of the load. Typical delivery is 1–3 working days.

Kwa Kiswahili: Ndani ya Dar es Salaam tunatuma kwa boda boda. Hangers, vifaa vya vito, racks na mannequins — vyote hupelekwa hivyo. Madereva wetu wamezoea kubeba mannequins.

Nauli haijajumuishwa kwenye bei ya bidhaa — hulipwa moja kwa moja kwa dereva unapopokea. Tutakupigia kukubaliana kabla ya kutuma.

Tanzania — Upcountry

Orders outside Dar es Salaam travel by bus cargo or courier. We confirm the cost with you after the order is placed. Typical delivery is 2–7 working days.

Kwa Kiswahili: Oda za nje ya Dar es Salaam hutumwa kwa basi au kampuni ya usafirishaji. Tutakupigia kukubaliana gharama baada ya kuweka oda. Kawaida ni siku 2 hadi 7 za kazi.

Kenya

Standard delivery to Kenya is charged at checkout. Larger or oversized consignments may require a freight top-up, which we confirm with you before dispatch. Typical transit is 5–12 working days depending on customs.

Border markets — Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Mozambique, South Africa, Comoros, Seychelles, Ghana

An estimate is shown at checkout. We book the consignment through our partner clearing agents and confirm the exact cost, agent details and route with you before dispatch. Typical transit is 7–21 working days depending on the border and customs clearance.

Pay on collection — Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, DR Congo

On these corridors freight is paid directly to the carrier or clearing agent rather than at our checkout. You pay us for the goods; we book the consignment, then send you the agent's details and the quoted freight cost. You settle freight with the agent before or on collection. Agents on these routes change from time to time, so the quote is confirmed fresh for every order rather than carried over from a previous shipment.

International — Europe, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, India and elsewhere

A freight deposit may be charged at checkout to secure the order and begin the booking. Full shipping cost depends on the route, carrier and volume, and is confirmed with you before dispatch. Sea freight is usually the economical option for large consignments; air freight is faster and available on request. Typical transit is 3–8 weeks by sea and 5–14 working days by air.

Collection from our premises

You are welcome to collect from us in Kariakoo, Dar es Salaam, or to send your own transporter or clearing agent. Select the collection option at checkout and we will have your order packed and ready. There is no shipping charge on collection orders.

How an order actually proceeds

You place the order online and pay for the goods.
We confirm stock and contact you within one working day, by WhatsApp or email, whichever you prefer.
We quote the delivery or freight cost for your specific order, naming the rider, carrier or agent and the expected timeline.
You approve the quote. If you would rather use your own rider or agent, tell us and we will hand the goods over to them instead.
We pack, dispatch, and send you the tracking or consignment reference along with the rider or agent's contact details.
We stay reachable until the goods are in your hands.

Packing

Mannequins are wrapped individually and boxed to survive transit. Small items such as hangers and jewellery displays are consolidated into a single box to reduce your shipping cost. Oversized goods such as showcases and full garment rack systems are crated or palletised where the route requires it.

Customs, duties and taxes

Import duties, VAT and customs charges in the destination country are the buyer's responsibility and are not included in any freight quote we give. Where you need them, we provide a commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin. Tell us at the time of ordering if your clearing agent requires documents in a particular format.

Damage or shortage in transit

Inspect your order on collection or delivery. If anything is damaged or missing, photograph it before signing off and contact us within 48 hours. We will take it up with the rider or carrier and replace confirmed transit damage. Claims raised after the goods have been signed for and removed are much harder to pursue, so the inspection genuinely matters.

Lead times, honestly

Stock items dispatch within 1–2 working days of approval. Large or mixed orders may take 3–5 working days to prepare. Cross-border transit times above are typical, not guaranteed — border delays and customs clearance are outside our control. If a consignment stalls, we tell you what is happening rather than leaving you to guess.
